A Different Take On Overwhelm!

Are you overwhelmed?

I recently realized this is a trap that I fall into often.

After all life is so busy and there are so many demands on my time.

Every morning I wake up and I’m bombarded with questions from my 6 closest peeps.

Questions about the schedule, where things are, who is going where and the never ending question of what is there to eat?

As a mom, I’m the go to for just about everything for my girls and husband.

The girls will walk clear across the house to find me to open something when dad was standing right there in the kitchen with them.

It’s so funny!

James and I are both constantly letting the girls know that

Dad can indeed help you solve your problems too!

On top of daily life there’s school, business, job and the list goes on.

I’m sure you relate. There’s always more to do than you can possibly accomplish in a day.

Recently

Recently I had a breakthrough in my perspective.

I read this somewhere, “If you’re overwhelmed, choose to be overwhelmed with gratitude.”

What a great idea.

It’s all about where my focus is.

So now when I get overwhelmed by too much to do or circumstances and I’m over stimulated I try to catch myself from spiraling down in self-pity and I shift my focus to gratitude.

It’s amazing when I choose overwhelming gratitude my whole being shifts and there’s a joy that flows through me.

All these pictures in the woods are from our recent home school adventure.

Because gratitude is magnified, the problems I had shrink!

Choosing New Thoughts

Choosing new thoughts is a habit I get to create.

Over time and with repetition it becomes easier to choose to be overwhelmed with gratitude instead of circumstances.

I hope this helps you in a massive way as it did me.
