True Joy!

What brings you joy?

When I asked God for words for this month of November

he gave me FUN, JOY and RELEASE.

I’m taking one of these words each week to think on and apply to my life.

Here’s one of my paintings that is pure joy for me.

The joy of the Lord is my strength.

It’s amazing how God’s presence can carry me through the hardest of times.

Joy doesn’t rely on circumstances or other people.

However, it is something that I get to choose and be intentional about.

His joy is always there for anyone to enjoy.

There’s A Difference

There’s a difference between joy and happiness.

When I think of happiness it’s more like an emotion

that is connected with situations.

I’m beginning to realize that joy is a way of being.

Joy And Happiness

Both joy and happiness are fantastic, don’t get me wrong, but it’s nice that joy is in God and is not reliant on how I feel, what’s going on around me or who I’m with.

We are approaching the season when everyone anticipates greater joy and happiness.

However, the holidays are a time when the expectations on moms are really high.

The holidays are really starting to roll now.

Thanksgiving is just a couple weeks away, and then Christmas will be on us!

Don’t Be Robbed Of Your Joy!

Remembering that comparison is the thief of joy is vital during this time of year.

Comparing ourselves to others, to the ideals of perfection that we try to hold ourselves to…that robs us.

It robs us of the small moments of fun that lead to finding that sense of true joy.

If we are able to release the expectations we believe that others have placed

on us or we have placed on ourselves, we can finally experience those moments.

When we can finally be free and truly release ourselves from this, that is when we can find fun and joy!

Then the holidays become a delight and something to look forward to and anticipate.

A Gift For You.

On a lighter note I was thinking how happy it makes me when food is ready at dinner time.

That’s one of the great things from my childhood memories,

is mom always having a delicious meal ready.

I laughed at this funny sentiment because it’s so true.

Sometimes I’d like mom to call me for dinner again. Lol

Alas, I’m the mom and I get to have dinner ready for my kiddos.

ln the spirit of this blog post, I hope to release some of the burden all moms can feel on busy nights.

I hope these crock pot meals make your life easier this week.

They are favorites at our house.

I especially like to use them when I’m gone in the evening for sports or our home school group.

When I’m tired after a busy day  there’s nothing like walking in the front door

and having the smells of a delicious dinner greet me.

I feel myself instantly relax with relief that dinner is ready!
